A skirt this time..

Hey girls!

Here’s a mid-week update to help carry you through the week to the weekend! As the title suggests, we seldom include skirts, but surprise! There’s a skirt today! Comfy and roomy, with decent length, and an incredibly adorable large cleverly disguised pocket. It makes for great picnics, or even dress down fridays in the office. The volume in the skirt even helps to accentuate and slim legs! 😀

TGIF!

Being on a couple of mailing lists myself for the websites that I frequent, such as Victoria’s Secret etc. I’d have to admit that most times the updates are frivalous and instead of informing me, I find myself deleting those updates instead of going through them! 😕

Therefore, in order to spare you girls the agony that I go through, daft*DIAMOND has decided to compile all updates through the week into a weekly update called TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday)! As the name suggests, updates will be sent every Friday, containing all the latest additions that we’ve made in the week.

We figured that this is not only a great way to welcome the weekend, but also saves you girls from being spammed by our frequent updates through the week. As mentioned, updates will be done through the week regardless, so do not be alarmed if items that we’ve mentioned in the email are no longer available. It could have been released early in the week, and have already been snapped up. Check back often if you don’t want to miss out!

So, this week’s TGIF..

Inserting symbols in WordPress

From my stats, I saw that some had stumbled upon my blog with search results such as ‘inserting symbols in wordpress’. Previously, I had an entry on how to insert symbols on an iPhone, hence the traffic, but I’ve decided to that I might as well do one on how to insert symbols in WordPress, or virtually anywhere!

There are several methods to doing this, but I will explain 2 of which do not require you to have any prior knowledge on HTML and all that jazz.

Method 1 (for WordPress)

  1. On the New Post page, ensure that you’re on Visual for your writing area.
  2. There should be a row of buttons/icons – Bold, Italic, Strikeout etc.
  3. If there is only one row, click the LAST icon in that row. Another row of buttons/icons will appear.
  4. On the second row, click the Ω Omega sign and a symbol box will appear.
  5. Choose the symbol that you want, and it should appear in your post.

Method 2 (for virtually anywhere, Windows users)

  1. Click Start > Run.
  2. Enter “charmap”
  3. Browse through the incredibly vast array of symbols, and click on the one you desire.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Go to where you wish to insert your symbol and press Ctrl+V or right-click and select Paste.

Hope these help, happy symbol-ing guys! ☺

FWA of the Week

So, in my previous entry I talked about an iPhone application, FWAPhoto, which basically showcases a new picture daily. To further entice you guys to download this application if you haven’t, I’ve decided to compile my favourites of the week to share with you guys.

From top to bottom:

  • 9th May – Mr. Kold
  • 7th May -Up
  • 11th May – Susie and Friends

I really enjoy opening up the application daily to see what surprise lies in store for me. And some of them really intrigue me. I think I’ll make this compilation a weekly thing. Pictures will be kept small so that those interested will go download the app to show your support. It’s free btw 🙂

Mini Update

Hey girls!

So, in an attempt to revive daft*DIAMOND, I spent the whole afternoon prepping the website for updates and whatnots. Initially, I had the intention to redo the whole site, but once I opened it up I realized that the current one is actually rather pleasing to the eye and thus, only made a few minor changes. Can anyone spot the difference?

I hope to see more of you girls soon as I hope to update the website more regularly. Till then.. xoxo!

One Photo a Day

For all iPhone users out there, is there an app. that is not magnificently captivating that demands your constant attention such as Twitter/Facebook, yet is a “silent” staple?

I have one.

It’s the FWAPhoto application. In a nutshell, it’s just an application that updates with a new photo everyday.

I can see that much effort has been awarded to this application, in terms of presentation. It has a black theme, with a kind of futuristic touch to it. It begins with the application title as seen above, and then a countdown of numbers to today’s date. It happens to be my favourite part of this app other than the pictures themselves. On restless days, seeing the numbers flicker and change, makes me slightly happy.

In terms of content, I think that the pictures updated have incredible quality. I lo♥e the concepts. There is a large variety of perspective probably due to the different contributors each time. Overall, it is always refreshing and for aspiring photographers, it provides new ways of capturing and portrayal of ideas.

My word for this will be: refreshing!
