One Photo a Day

Posted in Applications, Freebies, Review, iPh♥ne by Daft*Diamond on May 4, 2009

For all iPhone users out there, is there an app. that is not magnificently captivating that demands your constant attention such as Twitter/Facebook, yet is a “silent” staple?

I have one.

It’s the FWAPhoto application. In a nutshell, it’s just an application that updates with a new photo everyday.

I can see that much effort has been awarded to this application, in terms of presentation. It has a black theme, with a kind of futuristic touch to it. It begins with the application title as seen above, and then a countdown of numbers to today’s date. It happens to be my favourite part of this app other than the pictures themselves. On restless days, seeing the numbers flicker and change, makes me slightly happy.

In terms of content, I think that the pictures updated have incredible quality. I lo♥e the concepts. There is a large variety of perspective probably due to the different contributors each time. Overall, it is always refreshing and for aspiring photographers, it provides new ways of capturing and portrayal of ideas.

My word for this will be: refreshing!

Lancôme Primordiale Skin Recharge
Visible Smoothing Renewing Moisturiser SPF 15

Firstly, from the website:

Fight Oxidation Fight Ageing

A silky cream texture with SPF 15 protection for an ultra-efficient protection against fine lines. Immediately, achieve a smooth, soft and vibrantly radiant skin. Day after day, skin looks younger, and fine lines are visibly reduced.

Biotin (B8), a powerful energetic co-enzyme, is able to recharge skin cells with energy, allowing them to recover optimal functioning levels. Skin quality is visibly improved.
Also, gentle exfoliants stimulate skin cell renewal which helps to refine skin texture: fine lines look smoother, softer and skin is glowingly radiant.

Product:
It is a coral-pink cream, with a gel-like consistency. Even when I set the bottle sideways, the product doesn’t budge to collect at the edges, that kind of thick. Smells expensive, both refreshing and creamy.

Pros:
+ absorbs into skin quickly
+ smells really great
+ visibly smoother and supple skin
+ has an SPF coverage
+ a little goes a long way

Cons:
- low SPF coverage of only 15
- the price $$$

Overall:
Prior to googling this product, I remember already thinking to myself that this product is absolutely amazing. It brings youth to my skin, practically buying back a few years. This was a product that I bought only because I was overseas, and I forgot to bring along a moisturiser with SPF coverage. I had no expectations, wasn’t looking out for any results in particular. The goodness that it brought to my skin just surfaced, and made me take notice of this stuff. Imagine the prowess of this product!

I like that it absorbs fast; after showering, I will apply a thin layer to my fast, get dressed, and my face would be ready for makeup. Application is also done sparingly, which means a little goes a long way! By far, the best moisturiser I’ve used to date. The words that come to mind when I think of this product are, “supple” and “boing!”.

Lancôme places this under its Anti-Ageing > First lines and wrinkles section. At the moment, I don’t have fine lines on my face, so I’m thinking twice if it could be a moisturiser too strong for me. Nonetheless, I know that when I’m faced with that problem, I will know how to tackle it.

Would I buy this again?
Yes!
